College Rankings

Trying to rank a college is a difficult process because the question of what is important in a college differs from student to student. Is a low student to teacher ratio more important than the amount of resources the college spends per student? And how do you measure those items? The best known college ranking is that put out by U.S. News. There is some helpful information on that site such as the retention rates and admission rates although even those can be misleading. However, don’t worry about who is number 1 and who is number 3. In most cases there is no difference between number 1 and number 25, in the quality of the education received. Read our article on the limitations of the US News ratings.
