Summer vacation, hrmph. As Shimer students move out of the dorms, they stop by to say hello and ask me what I’m doing with my summer break. Then, I glower at them. They realize I have to work all summer so that they have shiny new friends next year, and laugh at me–but not without sympathy. I suppose it’s good that Shimer’s is the sort of small community where we’re all comfortable giving each other a little grief.
