The SF Gate is reporting that the regents of the University of California have decided to eliminate the use of the SAT Subject Tests for admissions to the UC system. This is significant because the University of California system colleges were the only public colleges using the subject tests for admissions. For those students applying to the UC system, they were just one more hoop that had to be jumped through for the application process. It appears that the elimination of the subject tests for admissions will first take place for the freshman class of 2012.
The regents have also changed the criteria used for guaranteed admission for California high school students and those changes can be found in the article.
