Who Needs College Admissions Counseling?

Princeton University

Founded in 1746 as the College of New Jersey, Princeton University, as it is now know, is the fourth oldest college in the country. Situated on a beautiful 500 acre campus the buildings reflect both the history of this Ivy League college and the look to the future with more modern buildings.

All students live in one of six residential colleges for their first two years and may continue to live in one of the residential colleges for the last two years if they desire. Princeton is well known for its eating clubs that are open to juniors and seniors although these clubs often also act as the location for campus wide parties.  Most activities occur on campus although if you feel the need for something bigger, New York City and Philadelphia are both less than an hour away by train.

Although there is a definite feel of east coast preppy, students of many different backgrounds and styles can be found on the Princeton campus. One thing they all share is that all these students are very accomplished in their own right.

Princeton has more of an undergraduate focus than many of its competitors. One such evidence of this focus is the required senior thesis where each student will work one on one with a faculty member on a topic of the student's choosing.

Princeton is one of the leaders in need based aid having established their new financial aid policy in 2001, years before other colleges. Not only has Princeton eliminated loans from financial aid packages, but they have a number of other initiatives to make attending the college as affordable as possible.

There is a reason that US News has ranked Princeton the number one ranked National University the past 6 years in a year.
