Last time I spoke about the importance of volunteering. While volunteering is important, colleges really want “true” volunteering. What do I mean by that?
There are many high schools that require students to volunteer as part of their graduation requirements. Colleges know about these requirements and look carefully at these students to see if their volunteer efforts are just the minimum needed or if they go beyond the basic requirements.
How do you show that you really care? Start volunteering early. Do is consistently. Do it in an area that you have a passion about. What ever the volunteer requirement at your school, exceed it.
