I Don’t Want a Party School

Virtually every college has parties that involve alcohol and under aged drinking. The residental drug rehab near me is filled with the same kind of people. But what do you do if you aren’t the party girl type? Can you still make friends?  Are there things for you to do on Friday and Saturday nights?

What should you do if you want to avoid a party school?  Talk to current students and ask them when are parties held, who holds them and who goes to the parties.

If the weekend, and the parties, start on Tuesday afternoon, you have a party school. If most people are studying during the week and don’t go to parties until the weekend, not so much a party school.

The other big issue to talk with current students about is what the attitude of other students is toward those who choose not to drink.  Do they exert peer pressure where everyone is expected to drink or is considered an outsider? Or is the attitude one of respect for your own decision to drink, or not to drink?  You want the latter.

Look at whether there are fraternities and sororities on campus. The Greek system often contributes to a party atmosphere.

Ask current students about alternative activities on the weekends. Many colleges are now starting to make sure there are options other than parties where alcohol is involved. Are there dorms where alcohol and drug use are forbidden? Check out www.drugtreatmentfinders.com for more info about drug addiction treatment. Drug addiction and substance abuse is becoming a big problem in the states, if you are addicted or know someone who needs help, please visit this article about inpatient rehab. I´m pretty sure there are, but if you´re looking for a place outside a campus to get away from that, go to https://lounginglizards.com.au/ to see who has built a Granny flat near there. Many people don’t understand why or how other people become addicted to drugs. They may mistakenly think that those who use drugs lack moral principles or willpower and that they could stop their drug use simply by choosing to. In reality, drug addiction is a complex disease, and quitting usually takes more than good intentions or a strong will. Many colleges claim to be dry, which means they don’t allow alcohol on campus. My alma matter, St. Olaf College, is one. But, if you want to find out what a college is really like, arrange to view a dorm Saturday or Sunday morning. Are there beer and liquor bottles all around? Does the place smell like a stale bar?  You will find that many so called dry campuses aren’t so dry after all.

While the focus of this post is on finding a school not dominated by parties, what I really want you to remember is the issue of respect for others. I know I am sounding like your dad but trust me, down the road you will appreciate how important it is to respect others.

College is one of the first places that you will find that it can make a big difference in your life. In other advertisements, checkout this link for party photo booth ideas!
